Art look LOCKED by the operator from the artlook_* side-by-sides:
clean dark-Synty; PixelOutline._MasterEnabled=0 shipped (feature stays
dev-toggleable via F3; other fullscreen effects remain backlog).
New AmbientMotionSystem (client-only PresentationSystemGroup, the
"world alive" anti-static beat, zero netcode):
- per-biome DRIFT particles from one world-space emitter following the
camera (meadow motes / arid wind-blown dust / cavern motes / blight
spores; palette keys on camera-X region + replicated room biome,
mirroring WorldAtmosphereSystem's switch)
- idle SWAY on the ACTIVE cosmetic flora prop roots near the camera
(LOD children follow the root; probed: none static-batched)
- walk-through RUSTLE: flora brushed by the local player
(GhostOwnerIsLocal idiom) gets a decaying energy shake
Rotations write around a cached base (lossless when toggled off);
knobs in AmbientMotionConfig (scene object, code defaults when absent).
Verified live: drift palettes exact in both regions (meadow
0.62/0.85/0.60 -> arid 0.85/0.68/0.45 on region cross), flora beside
the player rocked (0,0)->(-4.0,+5.0) deg within the rustle+sway
envelope, 466/466 EditMode, console clean. Discovery for follow-up:
the BASE biome's flora props are authored INACTIVE (84 bushes etc.) -
the base has no sway targets until some are re-enabled.

Dark-ambient, dynamic-light-first look (RoR2/Death Scourges reference),
built filter-agnostic so the pixel style composes on top:
- New DynamicLightSystem (client-only, PresentationSystemGroup): pooled
point lights follow projectile ghosts; pulsing portal light during
RoomExplore (same ExpeditionPortalPos authority as the beacon); soft
resource-node glow that fades with harvest-shrink; short impact
FLASHES fed by CombatFeedbackSystem's burst funnel (EmitColored +
SpawnVfx -> RequestFlash). Knobs in DynamicLightConfig (scene object,
code defaults when absent).
- Atmosphere darkened: WorldAtmosphereConfig/System palettes moved to
the dark set (base cool dusk, arid burnt dusk, per-room biome consts
darkened); scene fog switched Linear -> ExponentialSquared (the
system's per-region DENSITY writes were dead in Linear mode);
trilight ambient lowered; directional 1.9 -> 1.05 slightly warm.
- 6 landmark mood lights (warpgate cyan, artefact violet x2, survey
camp warm x2, cabin warm); URP additional-lights-per-object 4 -> 8
(was starving the existing Aether lights).
- Art-look gate material: Assets/Screenshots/artlook_{base,room}_
pixel{ON,OFF}.png over the lit scene.
Verified: lights live in Play (20 static at base incl. new landmarks;
pooled dynamics active in-room: node glows + impact flashes), fog/
ambient values confirmed live, 466/466 EditMode, console clean.

Full-screen URP post effect on the active PC renderer that pixelates the
scene to a fixed low-res grid and draws depth + normal edge-detection
outlines, with color posterization and tone controls, for a stylized
"3D pixel art" look. Runs via Unity's built-in Full Screen Pass feature
(no custom C#); reads camera depth/normals so it applies to DOTS entities
and GameObjects identically.
- PixelOutline.shader/.mat: pixel-snap fill + gamma-space posterize +
brightness/contrast/saturation + depth/normal outlines. Normal
threshold tuned high so outlines don't flood small characters.
- PC_Renderer.asset: FullScreenPassRendererFeature (Depth|Normal, after
post-processing).
- PostFX_Daylight.asset: tonemapping ACES -> Neutral (poppier color).
- Game.unity: brighter base atmosphere (ambient + fog pushed back) and a
stronger directional key light so the fill reads under the effect.

'sand 1' shipped pure-white BaseColor - the whole desert washed out and
characters/telegraphs sat on a bright field. Project-owned copy
(Mat_Ground_Arid_Dark, 0.72/0.68/0.63) assigned to both room-slot grounds;
the Synty pack asset stays pristine. Clarity doctrine: ground darker +
lower-detail than characters.

SLICE A - rooms become places: ExpeditionBiome duplicated to sub-slot 1
(X+1500) - ground, 205 decor children, rim cliffs, ambience; collider ring +
3 landmark colliders duplicated in the subscene; NEW in-room cover at BOTH
slots (4 collidable rocks each: Environment-layer box colliders in the
subscene + matching Synty rock meshes in Game.unity, placed clear of the
landing point, portal spot, spawn ring and boss spawn). Half of all rooms
previously played on a literal void.
SLICE C - owned FX wired: VFXConfig gains Portal + EnemySpawn slots
(FX_Portal_Round_01 / FX_Dust_Big_01 from PolygonParticleFX); the portal
beacon prefers the authored effect (procedural pillar stays as fallback);
enemies get a spawn-emerge cue on the ghost add-edge (primed-scan guard
skips the connect flood).
SLICE D (teaching) - the two undiscoverable verbs are now taught: dash on
the Move step, class ability + attack on the Rooms step (scheme-aware
glyphs); How-to-Play Controls adds Class ability + Dash rows and fixes the
wrong RT glyph; Loop step 1 mentions class pick + prep; the stale '50
starting Ore' now interpolates Tuning.StartingOre.

The first pass crushed readability ('can't see anything'): dark ground x low ambient x dim sun x +12 contrast (clipped everything below midtone to black) x vignette x dark fog. Rebalanced toward legibility while keeping the dark-frontier mood: ColorAdjustments contrast 12->4 (the main fix), post-exposure 0.55->0.85, saturation 0->4; sun 0.9->1.5 cool-white; ambient intensity 0.62->1.0 with lifted cool ambient colors; vignette 0.32->0.20; ground material lifted ~18%->~28% value; fog pushed out (start 18->26, end 42->60); Core beacon range 9->13. Ground, player silhouette, Ore ring and shadows now all read; Core stays the bright cyan peak.

Research-grounded transform of the base arena from a bright meadow into a dark 'Aether Siege Outpost' reading as a concentric bullseye (Core -> Ore ring -> dark perimeter). Camera (Game.unity): pitch 45->58, FOV 55->44, dist 13->17, lead 1->0.5, follow 8->6, targetH 1.3 (telephoto so Core + arena read together, near-iso enemy spacing). Lighting: sun dimmed+cooled 1.6->0.9, ambient 1.0->0.62 dark-cool, fog Linear 18->42 dark; WorldAtmosphere base darkened. Post-FX (PostFX_Daylight): ACES kept, bloom gated (thr 1.0->1.2 + clamp 10), exposure/contrast up, saturation +6->0, added ShadowsMidtonesHighlights cool-shadow/warm-highlight split, vignette 0.15->0.32. Ground re-tinted dark teal-grey; ~390 meadow-cheer objects cut. Core staged as hero (crystal 14m->4.6m cyan glow + cyan beacon light). Ore ring pulled into the arena (23.5-27m -> 6-11.5m, count 10->12) and recoloured AMBER (new Mat_OreNode_Amber, emissive, no atlas bleed).

The movement look-ahead added its 2.5u lead raw onto the framed point and smoothed only the final camera position, so the lead target snapped with the instantaneous input -- start/stop panned the view and reversing direction swung it ~5u (the jarring walk-shift).
Fix with the genre-standard separate view-position technique: ease a dedicated _leadOffset toward the desired lead via a new gentle LeadSharpness knob, independent of FollowSharpness. Cut the lead magnitude 2.5->1.0 (AimLeadDistance, 0 = fully centred like Diablo/PoE) and pull the default zoom 16->13 (~19% closer). Code defaults + the live Game.unity Main Camera values both updated. See 2026-06-11_Camera_Feel_LookAhead_Zoom.

Replace the sci-fi-colony dressing with two cosmetic classic-URP biomes in Game.unity: a lush Meadow_Forest base sanctuary (origin) and a hostile Arid_Desert survey expedition (+1000) - ~380 collider-stripped instances, warpgate/outpost landmarks, cyan/orange Aether accent lights. Warm daylight sun + Trilight ambient + a procedural daytime skybox + a cloned daylight post-FX grade (ACES kept). New client-only WorldAtmosphereSystem(+Config) cross-fades per-region fog/ambient by camera X>500 (mirrors HudSystem). Cosmetic-only - colliders stripped, never the subscene - so zero sim/netcode/PhysicsWorld impact (adversarially verified). Shadow-casting disabled on small foliage. EditMode 214/214. See DR-025.

Delete the NetConnectionUI GameObject from Game/DevSandbox/SampleScene + ConnectionUI.cs (the UITK frontend menu owns Host/Join+IP now); repoint 4 stale doc-comments (GameBootstrap done in commit C; DebugOverlay/ConnectionConfig/EditorAutoHostSystem here) to MainMenuController/WorldLauncher; remove the Assets/_Recovery crash-recovery scenes.
